The P Family

Here are some sneak peeks from a photo shoot I did last week. It was such a great family and don't they look sharp? It was nice to be able to say, smile, and they did it!! No chasing them around with a camera -- although we did get a little sandy!

All in all, it was a lot of fun.

Know someone who deserves a Free Senior Portrait?

If you are a high school senior, it is time for senior portraits. Senior portraits are something that most high school seniors look forward to as an exciting event that kicks off their senior year. For most students it is just a matter of choosing a studio and making an appointment. I am aware that some students don’t have the opportunity to make that choice. There are a variety of reasons that can keep seniors from being able to have the portraits they are dreaming of. I know there are families who are experiencing financial setbacks or personal circumstances, and I would like to remove this obstacle for two seniors from the Farmington area.

Applications are being accepted through October 10.  They can be downloaded at the link below.  Please contact Liz Applegate at 505-402-3791 or via email at liz@signaturepd.com if you have any questions or need more information.

Want a free senior portrait session?

The Ambassador program allows  high school seniors to receive a free senior portrait session, and earn extra income and free prizes!

Each Senior Ambassador receives an initial complimentary portrait session with SPD, after that their responsibility is simply spreading the word about SPD to their schoolmates!

Ambassadors start earning cash commissions with their first referral.  Motivated ambassadors will earn additional bonuses including gift certificates and an iPod!

Press on the link below for further information and to download an application.  Please mail this application to Signature Photo and Design at 6500 Logans Cove, Farmington, NM  87402 or email it to liz@signaturepd.com

And suddenly they are older...

This family with all boys is having to say goodbye as they head different directions -- Utah, Paraguay, Farmington, etc. -- for a long time. What a privilege to be able to do their pictures on the eve of their saying goodbye....

Cassady family

Here are some shots from a lovely family celebrating their parents' 50 years together...

The Loss of a Loved One...

July 22 was a day of great sorrow for me...I lost a loved one very near to my heart -- H.P. No it was not Harry Potter, but rather my Hewlett Packard.

Some may say this is nothing like the loss of a living loved one (and having lost my father 6 years ago I would have to agree), but I must admit it is in the same ball park (although granted it may be out in left field -- that kind of "same ball park"). When you lose a loved one, you have so many times that you think to yourself, "How I wish I could talk with him about this subject or that subject". With a hard drive the thought processes go more like this, "How I wish I could pull up this file or that file." and you think fondly back on the day when life was good -- all of your macros worked great, all of your contact files were intact, you didn't worry that much about backups, everything you needed was at your fingertips.

But now that is all gone and life goes on. I go on "silently" (don't discuss this term with my family) recreating all that I have lost or trying to find it on scattered back ups. I am now finally treading above water and finding joy in digital life once again. Fortunately, all of my work files were backed up (I am very careful about that!)

So if there is something you would like to learn from my mistake it would be this:
SET UP BACK UPS, because YES, it can happen to YOU!

Stepping down....
